Karen Neary, MSN, FNP-C
Principal owner and force behind the established Montecito Med Spa, Karen Neary, MSN, FNP-C, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Mary’s College and her Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. Before the development of Montecito Med Spa, Karen practiced as a perioperative nurse for more than two decades and served as Clinical Director and Clinical Liaison for several Ambulatory Surgery Centers over the last 9 years.
Karen’s interest in aesthetics began while working with facial plastic surgeons. She gained knowledge and advanced her understanding of plastic surgery, medical aesthetics, and general surgery while working as a perioperative nurse providing pre-operative and post-operative care, as well as a circulating and scrub nurse in the operating room. She assisted in numerous plastic surgery procedures such as facelifts, blepharoplasty, neck lifts, rhinoplasty, breast augmentations, fat transfers, abdominoplasty (tummy tucks), and liposuction.
Karen then developed a fundamental respect and the desire to fully understand the deeper structures of the face.
Throughout her career, Karen has attended numerous educational conferences, training, and seminars to develop her skills as an aesthetic nurse injector. This is in line with her vision to create a space where both men and women can be treated with a more personalized and specialized approach to their aesthetic needs while providing the highest quality service and delivering the safest results. She believes in the unique attributes of every person — therefore, service and care need to be curated to everyone’s distinctive needs. She realized that non-invasive procedures are as effective, if not a better alternative, or a less aggressive solution for those who want facial and body enhancements.
Karen is a member of the American Med Spa Association (AMSPA) and continues to learn and enhance her skills through continuing education and immersing herself in all things aesthetic-related. Her leadership background, clinical knowledge, and passion are the perfect combination for the creation and mission of Montecito Med Spa.
Kaliyan Bryant, MSN, FNP-C, BCFMP
Kaliyan is a double board-certified nurse practitioner (NP). She has spent the last 18 years dedicated to the nursing field and has significant experience caring for patients across the lifespan. A native of Massachusetts, Kaliyan eventually found her way to the Golden Coast in 2010. In 2014, Kaliyan was hired as part of the preoperative and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) team for a surgery center in Santa Barbara. Fun fact: this was the start of Kaliyan and Karen’s professional relationship and personal friendship, as Karen was her Director of Nursing.
Eventually, after having children, Kaliyan left the surgery center and worked as a perioperative nurse at a hospital closer to her home. The commitment to the hospital schedule soon conflicted with her home life, and she decided it was time for a change. Kaliyan shifted her focus from acute care and learned about aesthetic medicine. After her first day as an aesthetics nurse, she was hooked.
As her passion and skills in aesthetics grew, Kaliyan found her curiosity for functional medicine also grew. She is now a board-certified Functional Health practitioner through the American Association of Natural Wellness Practitioners. Kaliyan feels grateful to be able to work with her longtime friend and practice her passion for both aesthetics and functional medicine at Montecito Med Spa.
In her free time, Kaliyan enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their three sons, Maddox, Jax, and Leo. They love to take advantage of the Southern California weather and frequently go camping, enjoy nature, play sports, or do anything else that requires them to be outdoors.
Giana Miller, Aesthetic Nurse
Giana has been in the aesthetic industry for over 19 years and has been an aesthetic nurse for 8 years. She is a licensed aesthetician with detailed knowledge of non-invasive procedures and treatments.
Giana performs medical-grade procedures and strives to ensure the utmost satisfaction for her patients. Her love for her patients and detail-oriented results are driven by her determination to help her clients feel more confident and beautiful.
Giana strives to advance her skills with advanced training and education. Giana has extensive skincare knowledge and advanced training in lasers, Neuromodulators including Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport, Microneedling with RF, CoolSculpting, EmSculpt, Microdermabrasion, Hydrafacial, Plasmapen, IV Therapy, fillers, AquaGold, PRP, medical-grade peels, and skin tightening.
Outside of work, Giana enjoys spending time with her husband Andrew, her two boys, and their new puppy, Bellinger. As a proud native to the Santa Barbara area, Giana enjoys working out, traveling, and dining.
Ashley Ayers, Esthetician
Ashley is a licensed esthetician passionate about skincare and beauty. Ashley graduated from the SBCC Esthetician program in 2020 and has dedicated her career to helping clients achieve their best skin through personalized treatments and skincare routines.
Ashley believes that everyone deserves to feel confident in their skin. She takes the time to understand each client’s skin concerns and goals, focusing on both skin health and appearance. She is always continuing her education to stay up to date with the latest advancements in skincare technology and techniques. She has expertise in facials, hydra facials, and lymphatic drainage for the face.
When Ashley is not in the spa, she enjoys spending time in a dance studio, where she can indulge her other passion: dance. She also loves to spend time with friends, attend concerts, bake, and be cozy at home.
Laila Beaza, Front Office and Marketing Coordinator
Laila serves as a Front Office and Marketing Coordinator at Montecito Med Spa, where she plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and an elevated patient experience. She manages front desk operations, coordinates patient scheduling, and provides clinical support to providers during procedures and treatments, helping maintain efficiency and consistent care throughout the practice.
In addition to her clinical and administrative responsibilities, Laila leads a range of marketing and practice initiatives, including social media management, promotional campaigns, branding efforts, and other essential behind-the-scenes functions that support the spa’s visibility and growth.
Laila enjoys bringing together her organizational skills, creativity, and passion for patient care in her work at Montecito Med Spa. She especially values building meaningful relationships with patients and being part of a team dedicated to providing an incredible experience.

Renee Keene, MSN, FNP-C
Renee Keene, MSN, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic care. She is passionate about creating natural, elegant results through personalized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique goals.
With advanced training in cosmetic injectables, laser treatments, and skin rejuvenation, Renee combines clinical expertise with an artistic approach to help patients look refreshed, confident, and authentically themselves.
She is proud to serve the Santa Ynez Valley as part of the Montecito Med Spa team, where exceptional care and beautiful, natural results are always the priority.
Sarah Nance, Esthetician
Sarah is a licensed esthetician who has been practicing since 2019. She is passionate about helping clients better understand their skin and creating personalized treatments that support their individual goals.
Sarah especially enjoys working with acne clients, both teens and adults, and guiding them through the process of understanding what their skin needs. She has a particular love for Hydrafacials and customized treatments, as well as helping clients build simple, effective skincare routines that fit their lifestyle.
One of the most rewarding parts of Sarah’s career is seeing her clients’ progress and watching their confidence grow throughout their skincare journey.
Outside of the spa, Sarah enjoys practicing jiu-jitsu and cooking. She looks forward to helping each client feel confident and empowered in their skin.

Dr. David Loya
Dr. David Loya, MD, has been a practicing physician for over 25 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He is board-certified in emergency medicine.
He is pleased to provide a full-service Med Spa to the community he loves and lives in. He is especially excited to provide EMSculpt NEO to all Med Spa patients.
Dr. Loya lives in Montecito with his wife Angela and two children Benjamin and Navi.
To begin your journey, our expert practitioners invite you to a consultation and skin analysis. Our consultations include an in-depth education about your skin; a comprehensive discussion about all options available to you along with the benefits and risks associated with each; and a clear recommendation of action. We believe an informed patient with realistic expectations will be most satisfied with our treatments and results.
We encourage you to book your appointments weeks in advance. We will work hard to accommodate your busy life and schedule your desired appointment date and time. We will ask for a credit card to guarantee your appointment. Some of our appointments may require a non-refundable deposit to hold the time. We accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
Please consider arriving 15 minutes before your first appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork. This may also be completed in advance using your online account. If you do not yet have an online account, please take the time to complete one for easier future intakes.
We understand that your life is busy. If you are running late, please give us a call so we can make the necessary adjustments to your appointment. A no-show fee of $75 will be charged to your credit card if we do not hear from you within 20 minutes of your appointment.

Clients must provide a 24-hour notice of cancellation for appointments less than 2 hours to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A 48-hour notice is required for a group appointment or appointments 2 hours or longer. The guaranteeing credit card will be charged a cancellation fee minimum of $75 and/or any required deposits may be forfeited for late cancellations or no shows.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may be required to reschedule your appointment to avoid disrupting other clients’ appointments.
